Solid Rock Missions Opportunities
The harvest is ripe and the workers are few.
There are many different opportunities available for people to help.  Some opportunities are here at home and others are on location in the Dominican Republic.

Short Term Needs
Solid Rock Missions works with many different organizations in hosting teams and preparing projects for the work teams.  The teams and their makeup dictate the type of projects they work on.  We have that serve as medical teams, construction teams, and youth teams.  A newly added team type is pastoral training teams.

Medically, the teams can vary as the various skills of the group are identified.  Generally there are two types of medical teams......those interested in  family practice medicine and those interested in  surgical work.  Sometimes we even have a mix of the different specialties.  The teams arrange to have all the needed personnel come with them (Nurses, anesthesiologists, general help, recovery room help as well the surgeons).  The facilities for surgery are good but they do not  allow for overly complicated surgeries or for long termed stays after the procedures.  In the cases more complicated, they are either referred to the help they need in Santo Domingo or occasionally arrangements are made for the more complicated cases to come to North American for their procedure.

Construction teams vary as well.  We try to match the projects with the type of skills available.  Occasionally that does not work and some of the skills have to help with another project.  Some of the needed skills include concrete finishers, cement block layers, electricians, plumbers, woodworkers, painters, carpenters  and lots of good general help.

Youth teams serve a variety of ways.  The biggest part of what they do is interact with Dominican young people and children.  Some of the youth teams do light construction and painting, vacation Bible schools, street corner ministries and sports activities.

Pastoral training teams serve the pastors of the area with training that is not available to them any other way.

Medium Range Needs
Solid Rock Missions has a number of options available for medium ranges of service.

Residency Physicians
For students in the last years of their education, we can offer a month long experience of working with Dominican doctors to help provide care to the poor of the poor.  It is necessary for the resident to be fluent in Spanish.  There is a small charge to cover room and board.  We do require an application be filled out by the residence as well as approval and acceptance by their school.   Please contact us by e-mail at srm@solidrockmissions.org for more information.

Retired People
What better way to serve the Lord than being able to use your skills or hobbies on the mission field once you retire.  Your length of service is flexible.  We cannot guarantee we can use every skill but we will try to match your skills with a need.  Or if we can't do that we will offer some suggestions on possibilities for us to use you in another way.  Please contact us by e-mail at srm@solidrockmissions.org for more information.

Long-term Needs
God has seemed to bring the right people to us at the right times to help meet these needs.  We can use about anyone interested in serving God.  Specific needs on our wish list at the moment include someone with the skills with a working knowledge of construction in general who is able to make sure our construction projects and volunteers stay on track.  We can also use some trained professionals to help in the medical field.  In all cases, some fluency in Spanish is a must.  Please contact us by e-mail at srm@solidrockmissions.org for more information.

Really Long-Term Needs
We need people to make a life-time commitment.  That commitment is to pray
for Solid Rock Missions.  We know and see the importance of prayer and we need your help.  Please pray for Solid Rock Missions and its ministries daily.  If you let us know you are committing to do this, we will send you a list of things to pray for on a regular basis.  Please contact us by e-mail at srm@solidrockmissions.org for more information.

We also need people willing to help fund some of these people and projects.  All of our field personnel raise their own support.  We also need people to consider funding one of our projects that interest them.  You can read about some of these projects on other pages on our website or in our newsletters.  For more detailed information on how you can partner with Solid Rock Missions to help change lives for eternity, please contact Rod Meyer at 419-335-8046 or contact him directly at rod@solidrockmissions.org.

For more information on these and other opportunities, please contact us by phone (419-956-4077 M-F 9am-5pm EST) or e-mail us with your interest.
